DVDShrink 3.2.16 (CSS-free) certainly used to be available in English; I had it. but lost it in a
computer crash. I now use the French version, which is easily found on the Internet. The advantage
of 3.2.16 for me is that it automatically burns the processed file with ImgBurn.
Hmmm... Miinmize the small preview window, and it is now running in the background! On my
system, the program never consumes more than about 50% CPU. If you would like to cut back on
the processor usage asa much as possible, disable the Preview with the checkbox, or....
download the Sysinternals tool "Process Explorer", and use it to set the priority to "Idle"
(4). On my system (Core2 Duo), setting priority to Idle has no discernable effect on processor
usage. I've found that I can rip TWO DVDs at once, and still do useful work in the
foreground...
I agree that the details of ripping DVD movies can be a bit confusing. DVDShrink is still one
of the best tools out. Recommended if you do a bit of homework before ripping. AfterDawn.com has
some good tips and FAQs.
